Is the world open or level-based?
The publisher describes a handcrafted open world with settlements, wilderness and underground areas in Vale Sangora.
Content updated:
Vale Sangora is a handcrafted open world with forests, mountain paths, settlements and underground routes. The official world bulletins do not give a measured square-kilometre area; this guide focuses on its geography and how to explore without confusing travel with the quest clock.

Read the world bulletin ↗The official world bulletins describe a handcrafted valley but do not supply a measured surface area. A fan measurement should not be relabelled official. Area alone also misses underground routes and the density of things to investigate.
| Place | Identity | Exploration angle |
|---|---|---|
| Svartrau | Capital enriched by silver trade | Cellars, caves and ruins beneath the streets |
| Howling Keep | Mysterious mansion in Tantari Woods | Listen to local stories for context |
| Shrike’s Crag | Quarry with a violent past | Read the landscape alongside its history |
These are introductions from Bandai Namco: Secrets of Vale Sangora, not tested coordinates or turn-by-turn routes.

|---|---|
| A square-kilometre measurement | The cited official bulletins do not supply one. We do not invent an area or compare it numerically with another game. |
| Named places to explore | Svartrau, Howling Keep and Shrike’s Crag are introduced above using the publisher’s location bulletin. |
| A collectible paper map | See the Day One and Collector’s edition contents before buying. |
| An interactive marker tool | This page is not an interactive map and does not offer verified collectible coordinates. |
For a useful exploration note, record the nearest named landmark, whether the route is above or below ground, and any visible quest requirement. That makes a route reproducible without mistaking a scenic screenshot for an accurate map. We have not timed a full crossing of the valley, so no traversal-time estimate is presented as a measurement.
Forests, swamps, caves and mountain paths present different conditions. Dynamic weather includes fog that makes visibility harder. Look for landmarks and alternate approaches rather than treating straight-line distance as the whole experience. Bandai Namco: Creating a World.
The publisher’s 23 June 2025 gameplay recap describes the map as visible from the start, with activities revealed through discovery. New-area indicators point toward things to investigate without immediately explaining them. Clues, conversations and visiting a location fill in that information. This is pre-release design evidence, not our verification of every launch-build marker. Bandai Namco: Gameplay reveal recap (23 June 2025).
Use an incomplete marker as a question: what is here, how can I reach it, and have I learned enough to commit? Our exploration checklist is:
In the same official presentation, Coen investigates a cathedral clue on high scaffolding and returns at night. The recap describes using vampiric traversal, including Planeshift, to reach the building’s heights. That illustrates why vertical access and time of day matter; it is not a guaranteed step-by-step solution for your current quest. Bandai Namco: Gameplay reveal recap (23 June 2025).

Use the cathedral sequence to practice reading an approach rather than copying the number beside the compass:
| Look at | What the screenshot shows | What to investigate in your run |
|---|---|---|
| The building | A tall facade with an illuminated circular window | Is your objective inside, above you or on the other side? |
| The compass | An objective direction and distance | Does the terrain offer a real route in that direction? |
| The quest panel | The current objective alongside campaign information | Are you following the same objective, or a different stage? |
| Night conditions | The scene takes place after dark | Do your available abilities support the approach you are attempting? |
A nearby marker does not prove that the entrance is at street level. If the approach does not work, compare the environment and your current abilities before spending more time on the same jump. The three skill paths distinguish learning an ability from being able to use it at the current time of day.
Exploration alone does not automatically spend the campaign’s clock. Quest steps and learning are the decisions to examine for costs. Inspect surroundings before committing instead of rushing past everything because you assume each real minute consumes an in-game hour. Bandai Namco: Time and combat explained.
Read playtime versus the 30-day limit for the distinction. If you wanted the printed map rather than world scale, see Day One or Collector’s; neither is a browser-based interactive map.

The official feature briefing says exploration alone does not advance time; starting or advancing certain quests spends time segments.
No. The map in the Day One and Collector’s packages is a physical collectible, not a browser tool with searchable markers.
