Playing alongside a friend

You can each play your own campaign and compare decisions, but you are not two controllable characters in the same world. If a shared co-op session is your priority, owning two versions does not meet that need.

You can avoid spoilers by agreeing on a chapter or broad progress point before discussing choices. That is a social way to enjoy a solo RPG, not a hidden online mode.

Switching your own device

Before buying again, read your current entitlement, account ecosystem and explicit save capabilities. A backed-up PC save is not proof it can import on PS5. Cloud saves are not cloud streaming.
