Leveling alone does not unlock every skill. Check the knowledge requirement, shared skill points and learning time. Swordmastery and Witchcraft use manuals; deeper Vampirism requires corruption. Match the ability to your day or night form before committing.

Why points alone are not enough
The publisher separates three requirements: progression knowledge, skill points and learning time. One XP bar and one point type serve all trees. Swordmastery works by day and night; Witchcraft is daytime, and Vampirism is nighttime. Rebel Wolves / Bandai Namco: Skills & Power.
When an ability is unavailable, inspect that ability rather than treating every grey icon as the same problem. Use the following order before spending more points.

Check a locked ability in this order
Identify the tree and the form in which you want to use it.
Read the selected ability’s missing requirement: knowledge, prerequisite or another displayed condition.
For a manual-based ability, investigate the corresponding source category above; compare what you find with the requirement.
Check your shared points and the displayed learning time.
Decide whether the upgrade solves the encounter or movement problem that brought you here.
This is our diagnostic order, not a tested button sequence. The character and skill-tree overview explains Coen’s authored role and illustrates the trees.
Before committing, write down the learning cost shown by your client, your remaining budget and the next quest action you care about. Comparing those three values is more useful than assuming every available upgrade is urgent. There is no fixed skill-cost table in the evidence cited here.
Publisher Swordmastery diagram, not a manual-location map. The example shows an Anytime label; inspect your current client for the selected skill’s costs.
Check the knowledge requirement and learning time as well as points. Sword and magic skills can require manuals; more powerful vampire abilities require corruption. Read the selected ability before assuming another level will unlock it.
Where should I look for skill manuals?
The official bulletin directs Swordmastery learners to soldiers, bandits and fencers, and Witchcraft learners to ancient ruins, haunted places and magic practitioners. These are source categories, not an exhaustive map or guaranteed chest locations.
Can points earned by day buy vampire abilities?
Yes. The publisher explicitly answers this player question: the XP bar and point type are shared between the skill trees. Whether the learned ability can be used depends on its form and other requirements.
